In part one we explored six incredible sunset destinations; here are a few more places around the world that are perfect for admiring nature’s “skyscapes.”
Key West; Florida, United States
When the day ends in the southernmost city of the United States, visitors and locals alike are treated to a dazzling display across the uninterrupted waters of the Gulf of Mexico. The nightly Sunset Celebration in Mallory Square is a must-do activity, featuring food vendors, local artists, and a bevy of entertainers from musicians to jugglers.
Angkor Wat, Siem Reap, Cambodia
Spanning hundreds of acres, Angkor Wat was constructed in the 12th century and is famous for being the largest religious temple in the world. While Hindu temples normally face east, Angkor Wat faces west and is perfectly positioned for both sunsets and sunrises. The setting sun showcases the outline of the structure, creating a truly dramatic skyline.
Ipanema Beach; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
The sunsets in Rio de Janeiro are so spectacular, the gathered crowds are known to break into applause. Ipanema Beach is a perfect location for awaiting the sunset, but for a bird’s eye view, getting to higher ground is key.
