Grateful for Travel Experiences

Express gratitude for the greatness of small things.
– Richie Norton
When you think about your past travel experiences, it’s easy to reflect on them abstractly and sum up each with a generic statement like, “Wow, our Antigua trip was amazing” or “We had so much fun at Walt Disney World.”
But really, what makes travel incredible are the little moments of sheer joy that add up to amazing memories.
Grateful for Special Moments While Traveling
When you take a moment to remember your last vacation, think about and be grateful for the small things that made it so special:
Waking up early to sunlight and blue skies rather than the angry sound of the alarm clock
Discovering a delightful, secluded café frequented by locals and listening to happy chatter while you dine
The feeling of sand between your toes combined with the sound of waves gently lapping the shore
Sipping your coffee while it’s still hot, no microwave reheating necessary
The sound of children squealing upon seeing a beloved character and excitedly waiting their turn for a hug and autograph
Enjoying a second glass of wine alongside an extra dessert after the best dinner you’ve had in months (and no clean-up required!)
That first glimpse of the perfect breathtaking view, whatever it is – the vastness of the Grand Canyon, the Caribbean Sea and surrounding islands from the top of Paradise Point in St. Thomas, or the overlook at Bom Jesus do Monte in Braga, Portugal
Flights that go smoothly, sans delays or luggage handling issues, and a fantastic movie with snacks to pass the time
Spotting a favorite animal in its natural habitat and being wowed by the awesomeness of nature
Sinking your teeth into a pastry and savoring that first amazing bite of flaky, sugary goodness
