Falling for Your Next Adventure!

Leaves Header

Autumn is upon us. The morning air is crisp. The leaves are slowly changing to vibrant shades of red and gold. The kids are buckling down in their studies. Football fans cheer at their televisions Thursday through Monday while indulging in slow-cooked meals. People line up at their local coffee shops for pumpkin spiced brews. For many people, fall is the best time of year. As for us…we love fall travel!

In fact, in many destinations around the world, it is the best time of the year. Menus are spruced up with a hearty selection of homemade meals and the most robust wines. The landscape views are more astounding than in any other season. Temperatures are often quite comfortable for sightseeing.

While it may be a bit late to plan a fall trip for this year, (Never say never, though! We can always try to squeeze one more trip in for you!) set your sights on one of these destinations for next fall!

New England

Sail the Canadian and New England Seas

The finest fall foliage is closer to home than you may think. North American sailings typically begin in New York and sail through Canada as far north as Quebec. During this itinerary you can chow down on the freshest lobster sandwiches, visit Cadillac mountain, or kayak the Bay of Fundy.

Greek Isles

Island Hopping in the Greek Islands

Who doesn’t dream of visiting the Greek Isles? Greece offers it all — art, history, a vibrant culture, beachside cityscapes, and more. Greece in the fall is perfect because the day brings warm sun and the evening offers a cool breeze. At this time of year, high season is ending and popular sites aren’t overwhelmed with tourists. Whether you’re island hopping by ferry or small plane, experiencing the different islands is a must!

Danube

Cruising the Fall Foliage in Europe

There’s no better way to see several European countries all in one trip than sailing the Rhine or Danube. These itineraries offer stops at bucket-list destinations like historic castles, battlefields, and museums. Book a classic European experience like taking a cooking class or painting a picture alongside a chef or artist.

Vineyard

Harvest the Vineyard at Napa and Sonoma Valley

Savor the flavor in our nation’s Napa Valley and Sonoma Valley. In these regions you can take relaxing wine tours to sample the ripest and roundest wine selections. Or you can take the more active approach by guiding yourself from vineyard to vineyard via bicycle and ending your day with sunset dining. There are endless possibilities to explore the heart of our vineyards while finding the ultimate selection of flavors. Of course, a perfect time of year for this getaway is when the cooler air and unrivaled colorful landscapes prevail.

Thailand

Explore Exotic Thailand

Although Thailand is located in a different hemisphere, late fall happens to be the most desired travel time because it is right after the country’s [very] wet season. (The days in November are actually the sunniest.) This makes for the best in selection and availability of in-season produce at the street markets. The wildlife is thriving and excited to enjoy the days as much as you are. Play with the elephants, scuba the coasts, swim with sea turtles, or simply hike the freshly hydrated rainforests.

I fall in love with fall travel over and over again. Autumn colors the world in vivid hues, offering a different selection of experiences. After all, isn’t everything better in the fall?
