The return of cruising is getting closer each day, and cruise lines have been working behind the scenes to make your next cruise safe and more memorable than ever. With changes on the horizon, you can look forward to some exciting news from the cruise industry as they prepare to sail the seas again as early as this summer!

Cruise Lines Expand Alfresco Dining

As cruise lines resume sailing, look for more opportunities to dine outdoors while onboard.  Passengers have long desired more alfresco options when cruising, and now the cruise lines are expanding their dining venues to offer fresh air and gorgeous views. The Carnival Mardi Gras will not only have the largest Cucina del Capitano Italian restaurant in the fleet, but it will also be the first to feature indoor/outdoor seating. Guests onboard the Sky Princess and the Enchanted Princess can enjoy the outdoor tables at Bistro Sur la Mer.

New Cruise Ships Will Debut in 2021

Due to pandemic construction delays in 2020, several cruise ships that were set to debut last year will  embark on their inaugural itineraries in 2021. Carnival Cruise Line’s Mardi Gras and Virgin Voyages’ Scarlett Lady are two of the most anticipated ships to sail in 2021, but there are other ships that are stirring up excitement in the industry.

The sister ship to the Celebrity Edge, the Apex, will sail Caribbean, Transatlantic, and Europe itineraries. The Enchanted Princess, part of the line’s Royal Class, will feature the amenities cruises know and love in this class of ships. Royal Caribbean’s Odyssey of the Seas will be the first Quantum Class ship to sail North American itineraries. And this is just the beginning!
